Covid-19: Cook Islanders urged to overcome vaccine fears for their neighbours

Travellers were up early on Tuesday morning to catch the first quarantine free flight to Rarotonga. Cook Islanders are being urged to overcome any fears they have about the Covid-19 vaccine, with a community leader saying everyone has a responsibility to make the roll-out a success. People were lining up as early as 6am on Wednesday to get their jabs. Health officials aim to vaccinate more than 600 people against Covid-19 by 7pm, when they close for the day. Mama Tuki Wright, 73, was one of the first people at the Niko Social Centre on Wednesday. Shuttle vans then transported people to Rarotonga Hospital where the Pfizer vaccine was being administered.
