The Teton County School District Board of Trustees meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and on the agenda is an increase in one of the taxes it oversees.
The school board must approve any changes the Teton County Recreation District makes to its mill levy because the Rec Districtâs taxation authority comes from the school district.
The Rec District board recently approved increasing its tax to 1 mill, up from 0.25 mills, to cover a spate of requests from the school district for costs that include the school resource officers at the middle and high schools and replacing the synthetic turf fields. One mill is equal to $1 per every $1,000 of assessed value.
