THE HSE’s Covid 19 test centre at Punchestown marked a significant milestone last Wednesday 21 July, having taken their 100,000th swab since opening on 24 August 2020.
That momentous occasion involved one Kathryn O’Connell Ruhle, originally from the Kill area originally but living in Cheltenham now, who was “absolutely” surprised to arrive at the drive-in test centre and find she was the 100,000th person to get a swab replied. She received a voucher to mark being the 100,000th person to be swabbed at the centre.
Speaking of the test centre in Punchestown Convention Centre, she said “it is absolutely fantastic, so well-run, very efficient, the staff are excellent at making you feel comfortable.”

Over 100 single-family homes that are connected to city water through a lead service line are needed for the study. The EPA’s new federal regulations won’t be enforced for another three years, but city officials want an updated and robust set of data to more accurately make changes to the city’s water treatment process if needed.
