However, despite his many sides on Twitter, there is still a problem that the billionaire faces every once in a while and Tesla is now hiring a remote support staff to be able to handle the complaints directed at him on Twitter. Elon Musk on social media According to an article by CNBC, although the billionaire does his best in addressing the many complaints, it seems like customer support isn t really something he is good at. This could be the reason behind the company s decision to hire a remote staff responsible for this as well as a number of other duties namely to handle the complaints that people tweet at him.

Tesla Is Hiring Someone To Defend Elon Musk On Twitter

Tesla is looking to recruit someone that will handle “social media escalations” against chief executive Elon Musk. Ever since the electric car manufacturer killed off its PR department last year, Elon Musk’s official Twitter account has become the main channel that the company and Musk use to communicate with the public. Evidently, Musk can’t do it alone. The listing is for a remote, full-time position known as an ‘Energy Customer Support Specialist.’ The job listing notes that “Tesla Energy Support Specialists handle a variety of customer issues while delivering on world class customer service. The role of a specialist is to resolve or escalate complaints through appropriate channels and address social media escalations directed at the CEO with critical thinking.”

But it seems the blunt billionaire is now going on the defensive, hiring someone to fend off attacks by Twitter trolls. A job advert posted by Tesla, Musk’s booming electric car maker, said the company is hiring for a customer support specialist whose responsibilities include handling online complaints directed at the chief executive.

Tesla hiring role to address online escalations toward Musk

Musk s willingness to engage openly and frequently with customers has earned him a rabid following from both Tesla owners and non-owners alike. And because he constantly tweets out his and his company s stance on issues, journalists were often referred back to Musk s tweets by PR representatives when questioned for clarification. In this sense, the PR department became redundant when anyone could just check his timeline. More likely, however, it seems this new role will involve actively scouring social media for customer complaints and resolving them, since people are now used to tweeting directly at Musk when they have a problem. As of this writing, the official Tesla Twitter account does not appear to respond to customer concerns.
