WORTHINGTON A Worthington woman will serve one year of supervised probation for a felony charge relating to theft from Walmart.
Cheyane Pettit, 22, was charged last year after loss prevention employees recorded video footage of her stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise over the course of 19 visits to the store.
Pettit pleaded guilty to the charge and was granted a stay of adjudication Wednesday, meaning that Fifth Judicial District Judge Terry Vajgrt did not declare her to be guilty of the crime.
In addition to probation, Pettit was ordered to pay a $300 fine, for which she may substitute for 30 hours of community service. Walmart has 30 days to file an affidavit of restitution, and if it does so, Pettit will likely be required to pay restitution.
