Long-serving Pembroke firefighter Captain Scott Selle has been appointed by council as the city’s new fire chief, effective May 1, 2021.
The bylaw appointing him as Pembroke’s next fire chief was passed by the members of council during the meeting on Tuesday, March 16, held both in person and virtually.

“I thank Mayor LeMay, Deputy Mayor Gervais and all of counsel for believing in my abilities and for giving me this opportunity,” Selle said. “I look forward to working with (Pembroke) CAO (Terry) Lapierre and all the senior management staff and with my team, and I am very excited to build upon the foundation that (retiring) Chief (Dan) Herback) will be leaving upon his retirement.”
