is that so important? it is important because we have two iconic american leaders telling you, blinken, look at the word diplomat in a dictionary. smooth as glass. spills teams, i terrific individual. i know i m extremely. while he is calm, he is low-key. he personifies the diplomatic side of this. and then lloyd austin, and your contemporary of mine, a couple of years older than i am. as we say in minneapolis, you re going for a west point graduate. this [laughs] everybody in the military has deep respect for lloyd austin. combat soldier. he can freeze you in a minute with a look. a tough minded, quiet individual. so, when you put the military symbolized by lloyd austin, retired four star general, alongside a diplomat such as tony blinken, it is a powerful
hispanic and lgbtq candidates of adversity and building them up and elevating them in the process. i think that is really most critical. to put things in perspective the republican party is about as diverse as mar-a-lago. a lot of things we have to do to develop young talent. on the presidential stage you re seeing a result of frankly rules that have been established to narrow the field. having a minimum standard of polling and minimum standard of fund-raising and regrettably, you have more billionaires on the stage than people of color and that worries me greatly. talking about the bullpen you pulled these candidates there. the two black members of senate, they both ran for office and there is not a single black governor in the country currently. yeah. i m glad you brought up steve phillips. terrific individual. something he said about 2016 and hillary clinton s selection of tim kaine as a running mate. he called it an egregious
obviously that just wouldn t go over very well if you tried that. the president decided to pull the plug on robert mueller, terrific individual, great lead every and citizen, if he tried to do to him what he did to jim comey, i think there would be huge outcry. wouldn t just be democrats or independents, in the senate, it would be republicans as well. that would be one bridge too far. ted cruz makes the argument when he goes home to the state of texas, his constituents don t care about this at all. they care about good government, tax reform, deregulation, health care. what s your response to that? they certainly care about health care, i hope they gave him an earful. to figure out democrats and republicans work together on health care and figure out what s wrong with the affordable care act and fix it and what s good about it, preserve and if things need to be dropped, they ought to be dropped. i was talking to john mccain yesterday, if they have an idea, introduce it as a bill.
