GROSSE POINTE CITY As work continues to study the possible historical significance of some structures in Grosse Pointe City, a moratorium to block demolition of homes or the construction of new homes in certain areas has been extended.
The Grosse Pointe City Council voted unanimously at a Jan. 11 meeting by Zoom to extend a moratorium prohibiting the tearing down of primary and coach houses, as well as to prevent the building of new houses, in much of the Estate-Residential district.
The decision continues the six-month moratorium approved unanimously by the council during a Zoom meeting July 20.
