Eastside needs a trust fund
I remember attending a city function years ago and talking with a City Council member about the city being unable to fund various projects, citing lack of revenue. This council person said, “Don’t you believe that. We can always find the money.”
That statement, I believe, is still true today, especially when the administration and 12 council members supported the give-away of more than $230 million for one project. Now that the Lot J project is gone and we know that the city was willing and able to accept a ROI of 44 cents on the dollar it’s time for Councilman Dennis to sponsor a bill to have the city create and fund the Eastside Development Trust Fund with the same parameters he offered as an amendment to Lot J negotiations. Two Million down and $500,000 a year. A much better return on investment.

Demand Florida withdraw from Texas’ suit
Florida s Attorney General Ashley Moody (and Governor DeSantis, presumably) has joined 17 other states in the Texas suit to the U.S. Supreme Court to throw out the election results in the five battleground states that went to Biden.
This is an attempt to overthrow the legitimate results of a legal election, a violation of the Constitution, and a craven response by Florida s elected leaders who are still cow-towing to the outgoing President.
If this suit is successful, Donald Trump will have stolen the votes of millions of Americans, and broken our constitutional democracy. This is the kind of behavior we expect from dictators in foreign governments. Stop the Steal is the cry that should come from all 80 million Biden voters, nationwide.
