Parti Warisan Treasurer-General Terrence Siambun has lodged a police report over claims that its earlier Pas Sementara Sabah (PSS) was meant to offer citizenship to illegal immigrants
KOTA KINABALU: Opposition Parti Warisan Sabah has turned down Sabah STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan’s offer to join Perikatan Nasional.
Warisan treasurer Terrence Siambun described the offer as “humorous”, claiming that Jeffrey conveniently forgot to invite their ally in Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) to join Perikatan.
Siambun questioned Jeffrey s sincerity on why he did not invite PBS to join Perikatan first.
Siambun was referring to PBS’ decision not to join Sabah Barisan Nasional and Sabah Perikatan that form the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition that leads the state government.
Warisan s rejection comes hours after Jeffrey offered the opposition party led by Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal to come onboard the GRS coalition through Perikatan.
We are still looking at Covid-19 data from other states, he said.
The state Local Government and Housing Minister said this in response to the growing call from tourism industry players for the state to allow the lifting of interstate travel ban.
Masidi said he did not want to commit to any timeframe towards lifting the interstate travel ban as tourism players continue to plead with the government to consider lifting the restrictions by putting in place strict standard operating procedures (SOP).
Currently, only Sabahans can enter the state while non-Sabahans can only enter for work matters or family emergencies, and police permits are required.
