Houma church donates holiday turkeys to needy residents

Members of the Houma Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had some extra holiday food and decided to donate them to people in need.
Chester Van Norman, a service missionary from the congregation in Houma, shared the news with Monica Stock, who arranged the food to be donated to the Terrebonne Council on Aging.
“When Chester told me about the turkey and trimmings that were available, I knew right where they could be used,” Stock said. “The Terrebonne Council on Aging is a wonderful organization run by Diana Edmonds. Diana, who has directed for over 20 years, cares deeply for the community elderly and works tirelessly to help provide for their needs. Chester reminded us while we were unloading at their warehouse, ‘It takes a village, it always feels so good to help in even a small way.’”
