Terra Forma is a project aimed at developing equipment that will enable researchers in the natural sciences to perform a wide range of observations in different ecosystems across France. At the University of Rennes Inria Centre, the project employs two innovative tools developed by the Taran and Magellan research teams: SmartSense, a sensor network, and LivingFog, a data processing platform. Inria is currently running a Technological Development Initiative (ADT - Action de développement technologique) called Smart’Obs, the purpose of which is to manufacture prototypes for use in real-life situations across a wide range of scientific communities.
