Enefit Green, renewables subsidiary of state electricity generator Eesti Energia, is joining the Rescue Board (Päästeamet) and other partners to rehearse scenarios which would involve carrying out a rescue from a wind turbine, at a height of close to 100 meters.
The first offshore wind farms are likely to be up and running off Estonia's Baltic coastline no earlier than 2028, the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) says.
The government has repeatedly stated that wind farm developments in Estonia need to be accelerated, but at the same time, there is a decision regarding a refused building permit about an off-shore wind farm on the government's table. There have been five new proposals to develop off-shore wind farms over the last few years.
