BACOLOD CITY – A total of 55 houses were razed by fire at Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Monday, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Chief Insp. Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal, said that of the total number, 47 houses were totally destroyed while eight others were damaged.
Legaspi said they immediately responded to the fire scene after they sighted a thick black smoke from a far at the fire station.
Legaspi said the fire broke out around 4:18 p.m. from the two-storey house of a certain Teresa Pestaño, 65, which started from the second floor of the house made of mixed concrete and light materials.
