Instead of sitting at home doing nothing when she had to close her pub in the UK due to COVID restrictions, Teresa McCarthy Dixon turned to helping others and is now running a thriving charity that has helped thousands over the past year.
Such has been the success of the McCarthy Dixon Foundation - which was set up to help those affected by the pandemic - it has branched out into helping thousands affected by social deprivation and loneliness across Northampton, including many in the Irish community.
The wonderful work now undertaken by the foundation was honoured in recent weeks when its founder, Teresa McCarthy Dixon, who is from Portmagee, was named as Northampton s Inspirational Woman 2021 .
