A two-year-old boy died after his mother fed him poisoned food after she ate some herself on Monday. The family rushed the two to the Erode government hospital. While the boy died on Tuesday, the woman’s condition is said to be stable. Their family members protested in front of the hospital accusing doctors of negligence. The boy was identified as V Rohith of Avlpoonthurai in Erode district. His mother Divya mixed rat poison in food and consumed it following a family feud. She also fed it to the boy. “The boy died without responding to treatment early on Tuesday morning,” said K Velmurugan, 38, a relative. He alleged that the doctors did not give proper treatment to the boy. The Modakurichi police have registered a case.
