GEORGE TOWN: Once a pilot who spent hours soaring through the skies, captain Dennis Khoo now gives a helping hand at a vaccination centre (PPV) where he volunteers almost 40 hours a week.
And some PPV (vaccination centres) go the extra mile to “serenade” the people.
Over at the Indera Mulia Stadium in Ipoh, the people are entertained by live band performances near the registration counters.
The performances are held daily except on Mondays.
State cultural group Kumpulan Selendang Perak, Ipoh City Council’s Gema Warisan Budaya and the Department for Culture and Arts take turns to perform on alternate days.
Contemporary songs, evergreen ballads and even Chinese oldies would be sung to delight folk and keep them from feeling bored while waiting to be vaccinated.
But amid all the “action” taking place at vaccination centres, there are untold stories about those who worked to make sure the daily operations run smoothly.
