The sex operation allegedly stretched from NYC, to the Village of Brewster and beyond. A 14 count indictment was unsealed in a Federal courtroom in Brooklyn that alleges 6 men, one a Village of Brewster cop, either participated in or assisted in the sex trafficking operation.
FBI says suspect had 383 contacts in Brewster
A Queens man was charged on Jan. 29 with being a driver for a prostitution ring that served Putnam County, specifically Brewster.
In a complaint unsealed on Wednesday (Feb. 3), an FBI agent testified that Teodoro Rojas Lopez, also known as Leonardo Martinez, arranged appointments by text messages or WhatsApp. Federal prosecutors said Lopez had been driving prostitutes from Queens to Putnam County for seven years and had contact information for 383 Brewster residents on his iPhone.
In messages, he described the women as being from Mexico or Costa Rica. The FBI said Lopez told one client that the charge would be $100 for 30 minutes.

A Queens man has been arrested in connection with providing prostitutes to 383 clients in Brewster. According to the complaint, Teodoro Rojas Lopez set up the meetings through text and WhatsApp messages. Lopez, who was also arrested in 2018 with two women in his car in Carmel, admitted to police he took them to 12 separate appointments that day. He is charged with using a cellphone to promote prostitution.
Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a home invasion in Montrose. They say Darius McCallop, 32, entered the home at 3 a.m. on Thursday. The victims woke up and called police who say they were able to track the Cortlandt man s foot prints in the snow. During his arrest, they say he also had a stolen wallet with about $780 in cash.
