Bokaro: The district authorities sounded a high alert on Tuesday in the wake of Cyclone Yaas which is likely to hit Bokaro on Wednesday. As part of the relief measures, the authorities have set up shelter camps in all eight blocks of the district and kept 37 marriage halls on standby. Deputy commissioner Rajesh Singh appealed to the residents to stay indoors and villagers who do not have pucca houses should take shelters in community halls or government school buildings that have been converted into shelter homes. The forest department has asked to form teams to ensure the trees and branches that fall on roads are removed immediately.
