i don t know what the label thought the first time they heard that song, but if i had been the label, i would have been, like, correct. we ll never be royals thanks so much for joining us. i m alex marquardt in today for fredricka whitfield. we begin with a murder investigation in dallas, texas, where police say that a texas woman was shot and killed by her boyfriend over an abortion. 26-year-old gwas shot in the hed the day after she returned from colorado where she went for an abortion. isabelle gonzalez joins me with more. there was an active warrant from a previous incident involving this couple. what more do you know? reporter: court documents detail a history of violence directed against gabriela gonzalez. she told police, according to an arrest warrant, that she had told police multiple times that she was beaten up by harold thompson. during the time of the shooting, there was an active family violence strangulation warrant against thompson that had to do with
all-too familiar fratragedy is e again playing out, this time at an outlet mall, leaving eight de dead, seven injured outside of dallas, texas. a dash cam capturing the horrific moments the gunman got out of his car, ambushing unsuspecting people walking by. other witnesses were recording as the attack unfolded. a chaotic scene. those were multiple rapid gunshots that you heard. and you can see people running for their lives. a photo obtained by cnn appears to show the gunman after he was shot by a responding officer and you can see an a.r.-15 style rifle nearby. he is clad in black body armor and appears to have several extra magazines strapped to his chest. ed lavandera is there in allen, texas. i understand you have just learned new information about the suspected gunman. what are you learning? reporter: hi, fredricka. a senior law enforcement source confirms to our josh campbell that the suspect in this case has been identified as 33-year-old mauricio garcia, who lives
