Waco ISD announced on Tuesday that voters passed $355 million in general obligation bonds. The funding will be used to rebuild new schools where Waco High, G.W. Carver Middle, Tennyson Middle and Kendrick Elementary schools are located.
The total cost here is offset by $12 million for an estimated insurance settlement for the July 27 fire that destroyed much of G.W. Carver Middle School. $157.1 million- New Waco High School. Anticipated opening: First phase, August 2024 with final phase December 2025.
