A man has been charged after police responded to an incident in a Tesco supermarket last month.
Officers attended the supermarket on Old North Road, Royston, after it was alleged that a man had climbed onto a freezer and was behaving aggressively.
A former British soldier who admitted killing his mother because he falsely believed she had hidden his driving licence has been detained in hospital indefinitely.
Criston Preddie, 29, repeatedly stabbed Arlene Williams, 46, in the neck, chest and stomach with a kitchen knife on September 28 last year.
The Old Bailey heard he had used such severe force that the tip of the blade was embedded in Ms Williams’ neck.
The court heard how he called police and told them calmly he had just killed his mother.
Earlier this year, Preddie pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility.
The Old Bailey heard that psychiatrists identified he was suffering from paranoid and persecutory delusions at the time of the killing.
