CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson alumni and the namesake of the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility, Ed Duckworth, passed away on Monday, Feb. 14 at the age of 85. An avid fan of the Clemson tennis programs, Ed and Jane Duckworth led the charge in the building of the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility, one of the nicest tennis facilities in the nation. Ed and Jane said that other than their marriage, children and grandchildren, it is their proudest accomplishment. “Ed was an incredible person as well as an ambassador for Clemson Athletics and the Clemson Tennis programs,” says Men’s Tennis Head Coach Robbie Weiss. “Ed and Jane Duckworth are the pillars and foundation of the tennis programs here at Clemson, and Ed will be greatly missed. Ed touched the hearts of so many people at Clemson and within the community.
