Professional Tennis hits the courts ! Act now to be part of the excitement in the Bluegrass. Each year, the Lexington Challenger attracts the rising stars of professional tennis to the Bluegrass. This USTA Pro Circuit event has featured the rising wave of American talent in recent years. The action returns July 26- August 1 at UK’s Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Kentucky and features exciting action on the court showcasing professional tennis players from around the world.

Pickleball group to resurface courts at Turning Point When the J.L. Suttle Tennis Complex was built on West Sumter Street, it was meant to be the place for local teams to practice and play high school tennis. The courts have found new life in recent months as the premier place to play pickleball in Cleveland County. And lovers of that game have embarked on an effort to give new life to the old courts. This is the only place in Cleveland County where you can play outside seven days a week in Cleveland County, said Charlotte Teague, fundraising chair of the Cleveland County Pickleball Association.

The weekly Junior Tennis Clinics are held on Thursdays, from 3-4:30 p.m. They are only offered April and May so if you are interested in joining a group please contact Mae Kiser at 530-263-1566. Also, the summer week-long Junior Tennis Camp is coming up during the entire week of June 21. the weekly Junior Clinic and the Summer Tennis Camp are with Teaching Pro Russ Woodward. Russ Woodward is also a teaching Pro at the ridge Racquet Club in grass Valley, coaches the women’s USTA teams in Lake wildwood and is a 5.0 rated USTA Player. During the week-long tennis camp he will be assisted by members of the Nevada Union High School Team, of which he is the head coach. All levels are welcome. Ring Tennis Complex, the Florida Gators defended their home turf successfully and for the cherry on top: earned the right to claim the SEC regular-season crown.  When a final serve from senior Josh Goodger failed to return, the Florida sideline rushed to the court to leap and celebrate before dousing head coach Bryan Shelton with Cool Blue Gatorade.
