With inflation still high, items such as groceries, school supplies, diapers and formula and even feminine hygiene products are some of the things lawmakers were hoping to have reduced tax burdens for Tennesseans.
According to Rep. Torrey Harris (D-Memphis), the bill could have even been useful during the events over the weekend that saw a group of neo-Nazis marching down Broadway in downtown Nashville. If any one of the marchers hurt anyone or any property, this bill would have applied to them, as they all wore face coverings that concealed their full identities.
Over the next three years, state office buildings in Downtown Nashville are scheduled to get major security upgrades. The question becomes: should those projects get priority over school safety?
