Robert Duvall, former Nashville council member and GOP chair, dies at 70 Yihyun Jeong, Nashville Tennessean © Provided by The Tennessean (Nashville) Metro Council: Robert Duvall Submitted by Council Office Robert Duvall, a former Nashville council member and chair of the Davidson County Republican Party, died Monday morning from complications of a recent surgery.  He was 70.  It is with great sadness we announce the passing of one of our dear friends, the Nashville GOP announced in an email Monday evening. We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his family at this time. Arrangements for funeral services have not been announced.  Duvall was elected to the Metro Council in 2007 and served until 2015. The council member represented the Antioch-area and was an outspoken conservative.
