Tendring councillors react after winning Essex County Council seats

TENDRING councillors have promised to repay the trust placed in them by voters and be a voice for residents across the district after being elected. Elections designed to determine the make-up of Essex County Council took place on Thursday with results filtering in overnight and on Friday afternoon. In total there were 75 seats up for grabs throughout the county, of which there were a total of eight Tendring divisions being contested. These were Brightlingsea, Frinton and Walton, Harwich, Clacton East, Clacton North, Clacton West, Tendring Rural East, and Tendring Rural West. Following the counts on Friday morning at the Clacton Leisure Centre, the district’s new Essex County Council representatives were officially revealed.

Candidates to be challenged on their environment plans | Harwich and Manningtree Standard

LOCAL election candidates are to be questioned on their climate and environmental plans at an event next week. The candidates for Manningtree and the surrounding area will be scrutinised over how they plan to tackle a number of environmental issues. The event, hosted by Practical Actions for Climate and the Environment (PACE) Manningtree, will be hosted by former Essex Wildlife Trust chief executive John Hall MBE. Residents have been invited to join the free event, which starts at 7.45pm on Tuesday, and put their own questions to the candidates in attendance at the virtual meeting. PACE has a strong and growing volunteer work force and various practical projects underway in the area, such as food initiatives, tree planting and wildlife projects.
