Letter: Tending America’s garden By Marc Koorstra It’s an unfortunate reality that our country’s founding failed to establish the precedent of universal and equal justice it claimed to seek. But where it succeeded was in starting a pursuit of justice that has continued ever since. This is a lesson it seems some parents could also afford to learn from their children’s teachers (after finding the decency to put on a mask, of course). The Constitution didn’t serve us a thriving and just nation on a silver platter, except maybe for a very select, privileged few. For the vast majority of us, it bequeathed a garden that requires constant maintenance for it to prosper and sustain us.
