MEMBERS of a Mold club met to hear about the life of a Welsh-born actor and documentary film maker. Rotarian Pedr Roberts was the speaker at a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Mold - telling members about Kenneth Griffith. A spokesman recounted: Kenneth Reginald Griffiths was born in Tenby in 1921 and brought up by his grandparents. Having passed his 11 plus, he attended Tenby Grammar School where his English teacher - Evelyn Ward - recognised his talent for writing and acting. Upon leaving school he dropped the S from his surname on the advice of his headmaster. He started his professional acting career in Cambridge in 1937, was called up in 1939, and after catching scarlet fever, he was discharged on medical grounds.
