The commissioner of police in Thiruvananthapuram has submitted a request to the Kerala police chief to ban flying over the world s richest temple, Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple, seen as a high-security area. Following the discovery of six vaults in the temple in 2011, five have been opened, revealing treasure estimated to be worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore ($13.6bn), with only Vault B remaining to be opened. The request follows the appearance of a private company s helicopter over the temple and the prohibition of drones in the area.
