After Asheville murder, teen still evading arrest after 3 months

After Asheville murder, teen still evading arrest after 3 months ASHEVILLE - A teenager wanted in the murder of a 17-year-old near a city youth center has evaded police for three months, despite a reward and help from U.S. marshals. Asheville Police Department spokeswoman Christina Hallingse on March 5 said officers have not received any useful information on the location of Dionate Whitson, 19, despite the offer of a $5,000 reward. Though he has not been arrested, Whitson was charged in the Nov. 28 murder of Teylyn McAlpin near a Montford park and community center. A 16-year-old also charged with McAlpin s murder was arrested. His name is being withheld because of his age.
