Open RAN plans focus on rural coverage
With the planned Telecom Infra Project (TIP) Community Lab based in Bandung, Indonesia, now open and acting as the local hub of test and validation activity, Indonesia’s mobile operators are accelerating their Open RAN activities, with some already engaging in trials.
The Lab, first announced in July last year, is located at the privately-run Telkom University and supported by the GSMA, Facebook (a TIP founder and major backer) and a host of vendors. Alliance 4 Universities has been awarded funds under Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme (Action KA107). Through these funds, students and staff from non-European partner universities (see Call for details) and from A4U universities have the opportunity to participate in mobility schemes.
Who can apply? The calls are open to Bachelor, Master and PhD students and staff from the participating universities.
How long can the mobility be? For Bachelor, Master and PhD students the mobility can be from 3 to 5 months long. For staff, 7 days are covered by the grant: 5 days for teaching (or training, or both) and 2 days for travel.
