just eight days after the murders the routiers celebrated what would have been devin s seventh birthday at the cemetery. family members invited a local television news crew to attend. if you knew devin and damon, you would know that they re up in heaven and they re up there having the biggest birthday party we could ever imagine and they wouldn t want us to be down here being sad. i know devin and damon would want us to be happy. district attorney greg davis watched the celebration on television. i was just sickened by what i saw. because it had only been a week since these boys deaths and yet we have a full-blown birthday party out there at the grave site. and it really struck me as more than curious.
in public, in broad daylight, cold-blooded murder is caught on camera. january 18th, 1993. ft. lauderdale, florida. a television news crew follows a father to the grave site of his 15-year-old daughter. this was a very tragic situation. she took her own life, using her mother s gun. and the husband blamed the mother, in part, for the death of their daughter. the girl s mother shows up at the cemetery and the reporter tries to question her. suddenly right out in public, in front of the television crew, he just starts shooting. [ gunfire ] even after she s down, he stands over her and continues to unload the clip into her. it was absolutely chilling. the girl s mother is dead. the father flees the scene. at trial, jurors view the video evidence. the shooter is convicted of first-degree murder and
dumping him on the sand and then slamming him against a concrete wall. it happened so fast, i couldn t believe it. strong winds and heavy rains will also continue it s august 18th, 2008. tropical storm faye is sweeping through south florida. warnings are posted on tv stations up and down the coast. faye got nasty kicking up some hefty winds. anthony romano is part of a television news crew sent out to cover the story for the local station. we had full coverage from key west to ft. lauderdale, and we were pretty much telling the audience and the viewers, you know, how dangerous it is out here on the beach. while setting up, romano notices several kite surfers taking advantage of those strong winds. he admits it looks like tremendous fun. you know, at the time i was like, man, i would love do that. i would definitely like to try that. but romano never imagines that in just seconds, one of those kite surfers is about to become the story of the day.
there. over 500,000 buildings damaged. now, back to caught on camera. welcome back to caught on camera. i m contessa brewer. just like our last video, a thief is caught on camera inside a bait car. but this time the suspect makes a mad dash for freedom. and leads police and a television news crew and a maintenance worker on a wild chase through an 18-hole golf course. may 5th, 2008. las vegas. metro police have placed an unlocked bait car in the parking lot of the angel park golf club to lure car thieves who ve been targeting the area. it s early in the morning but someone s already bitten. the car thief finds the keys in the center console of the cadillac escalade, gets into the driver s seat and takes off. checking to make sure he isn t being followed. but unbeknownst to him,
following them around. the station denies it worker approached any juror. no matter what the jury decides, aaron hernandez is set to face trial on separate murder charges after prosecutor says he killed two men outside a nightclub years ago. hernandez has pled not guilty. arthur aidala is here. i nothing of the television news crew. they drop them off at a parking lot. there was a live truck there from whdh. without a reporter no can talked to anybody but they wasn t haywire, which seemed like a reminder to the media stay away, more than anything. when i was a younger prosecutor, this is this has to do with money. no one was allowed to go near the jury. the jury was empaneled.
