That has become the term of choice. It means they adopted an extremist ideology, for all kinds of ideology, in this case isisrelated ideology and the support of the violence. Today, we are going to take an inside look at the way political campaigns really work, and in turn, the american political system. Campaigns, of course, still seem to be all about the money. And Donald Trumps personal funds aside, most of that money needs to be raised from various interests. The New York Times recently reported that to date 150 families have contributed 176 million to the republican and democratic president ial campaigns. At least 250,000 per family. What monetary rules govern campaigns . And how often are they broken . What Walmart Campaign finance campaign in the 2016 and beyond . In the big picture view, what is the thinking that governs political campaigns . And how does that impact the messages we receive and the candidates who ultimately emerge on top . Tod
I think eric did a great with job of talking about some of the problems that we see, that economic inequality seems to breed political inequality. We also have Health Inequalities which is, you know, tightly related to income. And i think what we should be focusing on is the welfare of our nation. And, i mean, that does include focusing on the welfare of those at the bottom of the income distribution, but we shouldnt lose sight that there are people in the middle who really, you know, have seen their incomes stagnate over the last 20 or 30 years. The body language suggests that robert would like to [laughter] i mean, obviously, i worked in the poverty programs for 18 years, and im really focused on the bottom. I will offer this, though, there are some solutions on the income inequality issue. And one of them is and im a believer in the transparency with regard to the ratios between ceos and the workers. That rule has been passed. Sec is trying to enforce it. Thatll with be a good thing
