Years ago this month, and the occasion was the first day of permanent television of the United States senate. We are going to use the opportunity of the 30th anniversary to look back at the senate and how it is changed in the era of television. We have two guests that have been with the senate for 40 years and their careers there, theretired, and they span age of the television before senate and after, so they are ideally suited to help us understand how the institution adapted to the coming of Television Cameras. Let me introduce them to you. Alan frumin is a Senate Parliamentarian emeritus, and as i mentioned he spent 40 years in , the Parliamentarian Office rising to the chief parliamentarian position.
