The Itasca County Board of Commissioners adopted two resolutions honoring law enforcement at its regular session on Tuesday.Â
Commissioners proclaimed the week of May 9-15, 2021 as Police Week and May 15, 2021 as Peace Officersâ Memorial Day in Itasca County.
âThe members of the Itasca County Sheriffâs Office, along with all members of law enforcement in Itasca County, play an essential role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Itasca County,â Commissioner Terry Snyder said.
Snyder read through the resolution declaring May 9-15 as Police Week in Itasca County.Â

Lewis and Clark celebrates 660 years of staff, faculty service

GODFREY The Lewis and Clark Community College Board of Trustees has recognized 51 faculty and staff for their combined 660 years of service to the college during last Tuesday’s regular meeting.
For the past 34 years, Lewis and Clark has celebrated team members who reach five-year employment milestones with a Service Awards dinner in the fall. However, the Fall 2020 Service Awards event was canceled due to COVID-19.
“I express admiration and gratitude to the dedicated members of our Trailblazer team who have served our mission over the years and contributed to making Lewis and Clark a remarkable college,” said President Ken Trzaska. “I thank each of our service award recipients for their devotion to serve students and advance our collective work.”
