Hyderabad: The contested AIMIM candidate from Jambagh division on Saturday filed a petition before the Telangana State Election Commission against the BJP winning candidate Rakesh Jaiswal and demanded not to publish his name in ‘Telangana State Gazette’. Jadala Ravinder, AIMIM candidate in his petition alleged that Rakesh Jaiswal had violated the provisions of GHMC Act, 1955, though he has got three Kids for which he is not eligible to contest GHMC polls-2020 and suppressed this fact in his affidavit filed before the Returning Officer.

GHMC Mayor Election To Be Held On February 11 Jan 09, 2021, 09:15 IST The State Election Commission (SEC) on Thursday announced that the election for mayor and deputy mayor will be held on February 11. The first meeting of the newly-elected council will be held on February 11, where election for the mayor and deputy mayor will be held. The term of the newly-elected corporation would be five years from the date of the first meeting of the corporation. “SEC will shortly publish the names of elected ward members in the Telangana State Gazette,” GHMC said in a statement issued on Thursday.  For instance, if the names of elected members are published in the gazette before January 11, then the first meeting would be held before February 11.

SEC Warns GHMC Candidates: Submit Poll Expenses Or Get Disqualified Jan 03, 2021, 11:48 IST HYDERABAD: Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) Commissioner C Parthasarathi warned the candidates who contested for the GHMC elections 2020,  that they would be disqualified if they failed to submit poll-related expenses. This was necessary, as the SEC will conduct a meeting with Election Expenditure Observers on January 8 to discuss the expenditure incurred by the candidates during the GHMC polls.  ​Speaking on Sunday, the Commissioner said that the list of candidates who won the GHMC elections would be published in the Gazette soon. As per rules the winning corporators have to submit their expenditure reports to the Election Commission which they have not done so far. This prompted the SEC informing them that not submitting reports immediately would lead to their disqualification
