Lockdown cheer: Telangana in high spirits in May | Hyderabad News

(ANI) HYDERABAD: Milk and mutton sales might have taken a hit, but whiskey bottles continued to fly off the shelves of Telangana’s liquor stores all through May this year, the 20-day lockdown notwithstanding. A quick look at the month’s sales figures show that despite limited access stores were open only during the odd 6 am to 10 am period guzzlers remained in high spirits, with the sector ringing in revenues worth Rs 2,129 crore during this period. This is only 6% lower than Telangana’s May 2020 sales of Rs 2,270 crore, when liquor shops reopened after 44 days of lockdown.

Ramp Up Fever Survey, Medical Kits Supply to Every Telangana Household: KCR

May 25, 2021, 12:31 IST HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) directed officials to continue the distribution of medical kits while conducting the Fever Survey while implementing a two-pronged strategy to curb the Coronavirus crisis in the State. He claimed that the programme of providing medical kits via house-to-house fever surveys for corona was being carried out in a way that was unique to the region. For corona testing, the number of rapid antigen test kits should be increased immediately. It was proposed that, starting tomorrow, the number of kits distributed in all medical centres be increased, and that the manufacturers be contacted to increase the supply as required.

KCR Reassures COVID Patients at Warangal MGM Hospital May 21, 2021, 15:43 IST Warangal: As part of his Warangal visit, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday reached MGM Hospital in Warangal at 12.45 PM and went straight to the ICU ward where Covid patients were being treated to check on their well-being. He inquired about the treatment being given to them and spoke to the patients there and asked them not to worry or entertain any fear about Covid. A patient named Venkatachari from Matte Wada told KCR that he was getting good medical treatment. The emotionally charged man after seeing KCR in-person raised slogans hailing the CM saying, KCR Zindabad and KCR is my life. The CM went to each bed and spoke to the patients there and asked them about the treatment and enquired about their welfare. Later, he visited the General ward and interacted with the patients there as well. He also went around the MGM Hospital and inspected the facilities available there.
