Balunayak (28) of Veldurthy Mandal, Koppulapalli tanda was married to Mounika of Chegunta Mandal of Kanyaram tanda three years ago. They have a one-year-old son. Balunayak, who had been addicted to alcohol for quite some time had not been employed too. In addition to this, he harassed his wife to work as a daily-wager and give him the money she earned for booze. Troubled by her husband s behavior, Mounika took her one-year-old son to her maternal house a few days ago.

The police said Naresh, a tailor, who is an alleged alcoholic, quarreled with his wife. Following the argument, he took a knife and slit his throat. He was immediately shifted to a hospital by family members. Police said his condition is currently stable. Naresh is a resident of Petbasheerabad. Police registered a case and said the investigation is being carried out. Police said that he used to frequently quarrel with his family members in a drunken state. Despite being counseled by friends and family, he continued troubling his family members.

Odisha Drug Peddlers Sneak In 34 KG Ganja To Hyderabad, Arrested Feb 27, 2021, 16:34 IST Hyderabad: Excise sleuths have arrested six peddlers and seized 34.7 kilos of ganja from their possession at Gudimalkapur. Four of the accused are said to be from Odisha. The Department of Prohibition and Excise on Thursday arrested six peddlers, including four from Odisha, on charges of possession of marijuana illegally.  The arrested were Narotam Sarkar (41), Prasanjit Biswas (25) and Debrata Chakrabarty (20), all natives of Malkangiri in Odisha, Khokan Haldar (33) of Gachibowli and from Odisha, Kanjara Shiva Shanker (26) of Serilingampally and Syed Sayeed (25), of Anjaiah Nagar in Gachibowli. Acting on specific information, the excise enforcement sleuths kept a tight watch on the movements of the suspects at Gudimalkapur and arrested the six peddlers.
