Nearly 700 Corona positive cases were reported among the staff at the power utilities across the state. Covid-19 has badly hit the employees working in TS Genco, TS Transco, the northern and southern distribution companies, as per official statistics.

However, employee unions claim that over 1,200 employees were infected in the Covid second wave. They say a majority of the employees who were infected included engineers and artisans involved in maintenance and power restoration works.
Nearly 28,000 regular employees, 22,00 artisans and another 5,000 contract/ outsourcing employees totalling nearly 55,000 staff are working in power utilities across the state.

Hyderabad: The Coronavirus pandemic has badly attacked staff at the power utilities in the state. Nearly 700 employees working in TS Transco, TS Genco, the northern and southern distribution companies (TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL) have tested positive for Covid so far, as per official statistics.
Data show that 113 employees working in TS Genco, 30 in TS Transco, 328 in TSSPDCL and 306 in TSNPDCL have contracted the Coronavirus from April 1 to 22.

One-man panel acted only to benefit AP staff: TEEA
Telangana Electricity Engineers Association (TEEA) and Assistant Engineers Association (TEAEA) have requested the State government to explore possibilities of resolution to the issue of division of employees between the power utilities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana so that injustice is not caused to Telangana employees.
The two engineers associations and other employees of the power utilities participated in a self-respect meet here on Tuesday after the recent Supreme Court verdict on the division of employees upholding the report of the Justice D.M. Dhamadhikari (One Man) Committee. They expressed dismay over the apex court view stating that it had denied natural justice to Telangana employees who were subjected to discrimination in combined AP.
