The Assembly Elections in Telangana which were held on 30 November are ready to see the crucial results today as counting of votes have started from 8 am. The state is eager to find out whether the BRS led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will retain power or the BJP, Congress will pave its way towards forming a government. In the 119-seat Telangana Assembly, the three parties will need to win 60 seats for running the state. According to the exit poll prediction, Congress is setting the stage towards victory with 63- 73 seats, while BRS to win 34-44 seats.
When Congress hand stopped BRS s vehicle journey, KCR s hopes of pulling off a hat trick were dashed. The Congress will become much more entrenched in the South with this victory in Telangana and Karnataka.
Counting will take place on Sunday in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. However, in Mizoram, which also held Assembly elections in November, the Election Commission postponed the counting of votes to Monday.

Exit polls have predicted that the Congress could retain power in Chhattisgarh and oust the BRS in Telangana. While most of the pollsters gave a clear edge to the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, they differed in the outcome for Rajasthan. Mizoram could be headed for a hung Assembly.
