El Al is planning to ramp up its flight schedules to the United States in the coming weeks. The airline will increase frequencies to key gateways in the country as travel demand rises. However, the Israeli airline isn’t the only one eying an expansion in the market, with other carriers hot on its heels.

According to Globes, El Al is planning a major increase in flights to its US destinations to meet growing demand. The airline will fly 30 weekly flights from Tel Aviv to the US in June, much higher than the current skeleton services.

(JTA) Haredi Orthodox Jews in Lakewood, New Jersey, are curtailing Purim festivities because of COVID-19.
For the first time in 80 years, Beth Medrash Govoha, the yeshiva at the center of the township’s 70,000-strong Orthodox community, won’t host festivities surrounding the holiday, the Asbury Park Press reports.
The community saw a surge in COVID-19 cases after last year’s celebrations, which came in the early days of the pandemic, before widespread school closures, crowd restrictions and stay-at-home orders were put in place.
Ocean County health authorities have reported 11,369 COVID-19 cases in Lakewood since the start of the pandemic among the 747,000 statewide. At least 268 township residents have died.
American Airlines to launch Miami - Tel Aviv flights
American Airlines says it will operate three weekly flights, using a Boeing 777-200, starting June 4.

American Airlines says it will operate three weekly flights leaving Miami for Tel Aviv on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10pm local time, and making the reverse journey from Tel Aviv on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Ben Gurion airport at 11.55pm.
