Tekmar Energy awarded contract for Gode Wind 3 project

Advertisement Tekmar Energy Limited (Tekmar Energy), a Tekmar Group company, has announced a contract award from cable manufacturer, ZTT, to supply its Cable Protection Systems (CPS) for the Gode Wind 3 high-voltage grid connection project. The 16 km long submarine cable is scheduled for installation in 2023 and will connect the 242 MW Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farm to TenneT’s extra high-voltage grid via the DolWin Kappa HVDC converter station, and the associated DolWin 6 grid connection in Germany. Tekmar Energy’s CPS and bespoke Bellmouths will be installed to protect the cable as it transitions from the seabed through the dynamic zone between the Gode Wind 3 Offshore Substation and the DolWin Kappa Platform. The products will be delivered in 2022 and 2023 from Tekmar Energy’s Newton Aycliffe manufacturing facility in the North East of England.

Tekmar Energy has secured Cable Protection System (CPS) supply contracts for two offshore wind farm projects located in the coastal province of Guangdong in southeast China. Under the agreements, Tekmar Energy will supply its patented TekLink mechanical latch CPS technology to protect subsea cables as they transition from the seabed through the dynamic zone at over 110 offshore turbine locations. The contracts have a combined value of over £2.5m and will be delivered from Tekmar Energy s manufacturing facility in the North East of England and exported to China in 2021. Tekmar Energy managing director Russell Edmondson said: We are delighted to be supplying our industry-leading cable protection technology to additional offshore wind farm projects in China.

Tekmar Energy’s Generation 10 CPS will protect cables on Neart Na Gaoithe A MARINE engineering firm based in County Durham has secured an international offshore contract set to power 375,000 homes. Tekmar Energy, a Newton Aycliffe manufacture, whose products protect offshore windfarm cables from the elements, will supply its TekTube system for the Neart na Gaoithe offshore windfarm in the UK. The 450MW NnG project, jointly owned by EDF Renewables and ESB, is located in the Firth of Forth, Scotland. Once complete the project has the potential to generate enough renewable energy to supply power to around 375,000 Scottish homes. Posted: 5 months ago The cable protection systems were produced at Tekmar Energy’s manufacturing facility in the North East of England with the final shipment dispatched to China in December. The Jiangsu Qidong offshore wind farm comprises three projects (H1,H2, and H3) with a combined capacity of 800 MW. The wind farm is located between 31 and 40 kilometres off the coast of Qidong, Nantong Province. The project, valued at over USD 2 billion, is owned and developed by Jiangsu Huawei Wind Power Co, and Qidong Hua Er Rui Wind Power Technology Co. The wind farm’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor is PowerChina Huadong.
