Pakistan urges UN to get IIOJ&K detainees released Top Story May 9, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has urged the United Nations (UN) to get released immediately all detainees in Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) under the Public Safety Act. Pakistan has called for the release of all women, elderly people, pre-trial and under-trial detainees on bail (including political prisoners and those detained from the civil society); any convicted political prisoners on parole, especially ones held in jails away from the occupied area; and people illegally detained or held in police lockups, joint interrogation centres, and house arrests. The call has been made by Pakistan in the UN in view of the prevailing COVID-19 crisis in India, and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in IIOJ&K.

President TeK UK Raja Fahim Kayani said that Sehrai was an icon of ongoing liberation movement in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and laid his life for the sacred Kashmir cause. “Sehrai s custodial killing demonstrates that Indian occupation regime is adamant to use all available tools to subjugate the people of IIOJK into submission. But the sacrifice of Sehrai testifies that no matter what, India can never break the will of the Kashmiri leadership,” the TeK president said.

Pro-Pakistan slogans raised at Sehrai s funeral

Top Story May 7, 2021 ISLAMABAD: People raised high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans during the funeral of senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Kashmir Media Service, a video showed that during the funeral of Sehrai in his ancestral village Tekipora in Lolab area of Kupwara under tight military siege, people shouted slogans in favour of the senior Kashmiri leader as well as for freedom from Indian occupation, Islam and Pakistan. The participants raised slogans: “Allah-o-Akbar (God is Great)”, “We want freedom”, “We are Pakistanis”, “Pakistan is ours”, and “Listen oppressors and traitors – freedom is our right and we will get this right at all costs”.

Incarcerated Kashmiri leader Ashraf Sehrai dies in Indian custody Top Story By News Desk ISLAMABAD: A senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, has died in Indian custody in occupied Jammu. According to the Kashmir Media Service, Sehrai was booked under the draconian Public Safety Act and taken to Udhampur Jail in Jammu on July 12, 2020. His condition deteriorated in jail and on Tuesday he was shifted to a hospital in Jammu where he died on Wednesday. He was nearly 80 years old. Sehrai was suffering from multiple diseases and was not provided with any medical treatment during his incarceration. His family members were kept unaware of his condition.
