Teenagers often experience mental stress due to various factors like academic pressure, peer influence, and family expectations. Recognising early signs, maintaining open communication, and limiting social media can help parents provide crucial support for their teenagers mental health.
Of the 752 students, 124 parents, and 69 staff surveyed, all three groups believed the wellness center reduced students’ anxiety and depression. Students who were more likely to experience marginalization or extra stressors reported that they used and benefited from the center the most.
The pooch that eventually fills the role will be expected to comfort high school and college students through stressful academic periods with lots of cuddles.
