CFB Transfers Who Could Have the Biggest Impact in 2021 Season

0 of 9 Former Georgia CB Tyrique StevensonMichael Woods/Associated Press The 2021 college football season will go down in history as the Year of the Transfer. Because the 2020-21 academic year did not count against anyone s eligibility clock and because the NCAA finally approved the one-time free transfer proposal (undergraduates aren t required to sit out for a year if it s their first time transferring), transfers are taking place en masse. The vast majority of those transfers will be either inconsequential or only mildly consequential, but a handful could make a College Football Playoff-altering impact in their new homes. A player leaving one team to lead another to championship heights is not a new phenomenon. A former transfer won the Heisman Trophy in 2017, 2018 and 2019, after all. But it feels like there have already been at least five times as many Oh, wow, that s a huge pickup for an already solid team reactions to transfers as usual.

Stats for Packers Fifth-Round Pick Tedarrell Slaton

May 6, 2021 GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers used their fifth-round pick on Florida defensive tackle Tedarrell Slaton. Here’s a look at Slaton’s four-year career with the Gators. Tedarrell Slaton’s Stats at Florida Slaton, who also goes by T.J., arrived on campus with big dreams of breaking Florida’s single-season sacks record of 13. Instead, he mustered only 3.5 sacks in 45 career games. Of his 14 career starts, a dozen came as a senior, when he set a career high with 37 tackles. He added 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for losses, just off his career highs of two sacks and four TFLs from 2019.

How does Florida's 2021 NFL Draft class size up against the decade's best groups?

May 5, 2021 Florida had a big NFL Draft weekend, coming one short of tying the school’s seven-round record with eight players selected. Several more got free agent contracts shortly after the final round ended, giving the pro ranks a fresh infusion of Gators. UF had ten players selected in 1978 when the draft stretched on to 12 rounds, though just half of them went in the first seven rounds. The 2010 Draft, featuring much of the core of the 2008-09 teams that went a combined 26-2, had nine players. In the intervening years, Florida has had eight guys taken four times now. How does the 2021 group compare to the others? Glad you asked. I used a weighted system that assigns seven points for first rounders down to one point for seventh rounders to standardize a way to look at them to see how this latest draft class stacks up.

2021 NFL Draft Grades For All 32 Teams

We heard rumblings about 24 hours before the first round that the Cardinals were likely to take Collins, though he was someone expected to go in the mid-to-late 20’s. Could they have traded back and landed him? Maybe. But his versatility combined with that of Isaiah Simmons and Budda Baker make this a tough defense to play against. Moore makes so much sense in the second round, as we still don’t know if Larry Fitzgerald will return. No matter what, he’s a perfect fit to play the slot in their offense. I liked Gowan better than Wilson, so getting him two rounds later saved their score a bit, as Wilson seemed like a bit of a reach. If there’s one thing I would’ve liked to see them do, it was to add a nose tackle seeing as many of them fell much further than expected.
