ATLANTA Atlanta Police were on the scene for nearly four hours after a man barricaded himself in a vehicle in the heart of a busy area of downtown on Feb. 6.
Police spokesperson, Officer Steve Avery, said that SWAT team members and negotiators got the call at around 9 p.m. to 160 Ted Turner Drive NW in response to the incident, described as a dispute with a weapon.
Avery said a woman called police after her ex-boyfriend threatened the 18-year-old with a firearm. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Janarious Porter, got in a vehicle next to the American Hotel and would not get out.
