Dave Chappelle has his licensing back for
Chappelle’s Show, and he’s bringing the show back to Netflix. Chappelle posted a video to his Instagram account of a set performed at Austin venue Stubbs titled “Redemption Song” in which he confirmed that the show is returning to the streaming service.
The comedian revealed back in November that Netflix, with whom Chappelle has a lucrative contract for standup specials, had pulled the show at his request. Chappelle said that he’d asked Netflix to pull the series because he didn’t approve of ViacomCBS being able to license it without paying him any money. HBO Max soon followed suit.
