About 300 members of Local 150 of the International Union of Operating Engineers have started a walkout against three companies with quarries and other sites in Northern Illinois.
"When you hear he has less than 1% chance of survival, the wind just leaves your lungs. You don t know what to say. It s a shock," Jeffrey Valles said.
