(WAFF) - Jacksonville State will bring its conference affiliation closer to home, with the Gamecocks announcing Friday they will join the ASUN Conference beginning with the 2021-22 athletics season. The Gamecocks will rejoin the ASUN – the league that was its first Division I conference home - after an 18-year stay in the Ohio Valley Conference that produced some of the most decorated years in JSU’s storied history. The ASUN announced on Friday an expansion that includes JSU, Eastern Kentucky and Central Arkansas and brings the league’s membership to 12 teams. “This is an exciting day for Jacksonville State University, for our student-athletes, for our alumni and for our fans,” Jacksonville State President Dr, Don Killingsworth said.

FGCU women postpone games against North Alabama, Liberty Published: December 31, 2020 4:22 PM EST Recommended The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s basketball team’s games at North Alabama on Jan. 2 and 3, and against Liberty on Jan. 9 and 10, have been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test. Because of the 14-day quarantine period, the postponement includes FGCU’s Jan. 10 ESPNU game against Liberty. No rescheduled dates have been announced at this time. The official ASUN opener for the Eagles will now be Jan. 16 and 17 at Bellarmine University, followed by the home opener against Lipscomb Jan. 23 and 24. The women’s postponement follows the men’s, who announced Wednesday that their games against North Alabama and Liberty would also be postponed due to COVID-19. New dates for those games have not been set.
